Functional Reactivation Program (FRP)
The FRP is a short-term pre-vocational program (duration of time is individualized) designed to prepare clients to make a successful transition back into the workplace.
The FRP is intended for clients who are in a stage of medical transition and who:
- Have not yet achieved medical stability to allow for return to work (RTW) planning in their own or an alternate occupation
- May have been away from the workplace following a lengthy absence (2 years+) as a result of a complicated diagnosis
- Require assistance in setting realistic and measurable goals to increase their function and activities of daily living (ADL), in preparation for RTW
- Have low confidence in their abilities and remain concerned about RTW for fear of relapse
Program Highlights include a review of:
Motivation, exploring factors necessary to facilitate a successful return to the workplace, needs assessment, goal setting, structure, and health and well being.
Four main topic areas to be covered in the weekly program are:
- Structure and Routine
- Body and Health
- Social Support/Self Preservation
- Work Readiness
