Audra Baldwin

Audra Baldwin

Audra's educational background includes a Bachelor of Physical Education and previous certification as a Functional Capacity Evaluator. Audra's diverse work experience includes specific knowledge as a Rehabilitation Consultant, both within a private firm and in the insurance industry. As well, she gained clinical expertise and the ability to facilitate a client's successful return to work plan as an Exercise Therapist and Program Co-ordinator at several CBI Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centres in Canada.

Audra also brings hands on experience in the area of vocational planning. She has successfully assisted clients in recognizing their potential to return to work and has the expertise to provide clients with the tools to realize success. This broad range of assets enables her to develop appropriate rehabilitation activities to optimize the client's vocational rehabilitation potential.

Jennifer Henker

Jennifer Henker

A Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation and Diploma in Business Administration complements Jennifer's employment experience. Jennifer obtained her experience as a Rehabilitation Consultant contracting services to an independent consulting firm. She is highly skilled in providing disability case management services that involve co-ordinating and implementing cost-effective rehabilitation plans with a variety of employers, labour unions, and insurance companies in Western Canada.

A strong marketing and sales background is evident in Jennifer's delivery of vocational activities including job search strategies and work placement. This balanced skill set also enables her to identify and address barriers to assist clients in their return to work. Jennifer is also a Certified General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB) Evaluator and is able to provide this service on request.

Kim Johnston

Kim Johnston

Kim possesses a Business Administration diploma and has been a valued asset to the Altius team since 1999. Through her tenure, Kim has considerably expanded her skills, collaborating with her colleagues and their clients, honing her delivery of vocational planning strategies, job search and disability case management services.

Independently managing an active caseload, Kim has a proven record of establishing effective rehabilitation programs, demonstrating a key strength in accurately assessing client transferable skills, work values and interests and providing return to work tools including resume development, interviewing strategies, assisted job search and networking.

Kim is highly skilled in conducting labour market research and has established positive relationships with a variety of employers in Alberta. Kim's ability to network and her outstanding attention to detail allow her to identify suitable volunteer placements, job shadows, work experiences and viable job opportunities for Altius' clients, ultimately assisting them in successfully returning to the workforce. Her strong customer service enables her to easily establish rapport and confidence in the individuals she assists. One of Kim's clients describes her as kind, patient, personable, emotionally supportive and "In an era where exceptional one-to-one client support has virtually disappeared, the work Kim did should be held up as an example for others to try to emulate. I have greatly appreciated all her efforts."

Christine Bednarek

Christine Bednarek

A Bachelor degree in Kinesiology and a Medical Exercise Specialty from the American Academy of Health, Fitness and Rehab Professionals comprise Christine's formal education. As a certified Strength and Conditioning specialist and a professional fitness consultant for the past 10 years, Christine is experienced both in the theory and practical applications of counseling and is skilled at meeting her clients specific needs using the transtheoretical model of the stages of change.

As a member of the American Academy of Health, Fitness and Rehab Professionals (AAHFRP), Christine has a broad knowledge of various medical conditions and the ability to provide clients with strategies to overcome barriers to their successful rehabilitation. Vocationally, Christine is able to utilize her exceptional counselling skills to assess, problem solve and implement goal oriented plans to professionally facilitate the process of change while empowering and guiding clients to return to work.

Donna Cross

Donna Cross

Donna completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta. She holds a certificate in Conflict Management from Alberta Arbitration and Mediation Society and is currently completing a Masters Degree in Conflict Analysis and Management through Royal Roads University. Donna has an extensive disability case management background gained from work in the insurance industry. She is experienced in developing focused and cost effective disability case management tailored to the needs, values and philosophy of the companies she works with. With this combination of communication training and conflict resolution education and case management skills, she is able to explore creative solutions for achieving successful outcomes with vocational reintegration and rehabilitation planning.

Donna utilizes her problem solving and analytical skills to assess situations, to provide insightful and accurate reporting and to implement practical and professional goal orientated plans. Donna works to find the core values, barriers and interests of the people she works with, and then helps them devise practical, real-world ways of resuming productivity. Her use of humour, depth of insight, and patience in the face of challenge contributes to a casual, yet professional, style of work that respects people and helps them to move forward with their rehabilitation and vocational goals.

Donna is an experienced mediator, negotiator, workshop facilitator and communication coach.

Heather Mustard

Heather Mustard

Heather's educational background includes training in journalism, public relations, and radio broadcasting. She gained her career experience as a news radio reporter, news writer, on-air host and newspaper columnist. This, coupled with her work as a senior political assistant, has honed her writing, research and interview skills. Heather has applied this experience as a Consultant with Altius since 2010, working alongside her colleagues to support and deliver vocational planning and job search services for the team's diverse client base.

Heather takes an "outside the box" approach to analysis of clients' transferable skills and determining alternate job areas. Her development of strong resumes tailored to each client's unique skill set, experience and work values - while providing thorough employment research, interview strategies and labour market research - enables clients to move forward in a positive, productive way. Her background in customer service is demonstrated in her interaction and support of client needs, establishing rapport while encouraging confidence and optimism during the vocational planning process.

Susan Foster-Wilcox

Susan Foster-Wilcox

Susan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Education Degree in Educational Psychology, with a specialization in Rehabilitation Studies. She has been a much valued member of the Altius team intermittently since 2000 providing a variety of services including vocational assessments, return to work planning, job search assistance, disability case management, and guidance in her areas of expertise.

In addition to her experience with Altius, Susan worked as a Vocational Consultant with Nancy Haston and Associates in Toronto, Ontario, completing Labour Market Re-entry plans and Vocational Assessments using a variety of standardized test, transferable skills analysis, and labour market research. As a former Practicum Co-ordinator/Instructor with the Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies program at the University of Calgary, Susan was responsible for networking to secure practicum placements, supervising, coaching and evaluating undergraduate students. As well, Susan gained clinical experience in counselling, development of rehabilitation plans and case management as a Support Worker with Northern Alberta Brain Injury Society. This array of skills complements her experience as a Rehabilitation Consultant and enables Susan to provide individualized service to clients with a variety of disabling conditions.

Through this education and her previous work experience, Susan has gained the skills and knowledge required to provide results oriented vocational rehabilitation services.
